Echoes of a silent citizen~

The anger of protest is no longer just confined to an exam at this point, it's about the raging fact that yes the government heard you, they saw you… And is planning to throw you out of the picture. I am always the silent one, even when I have millions of opinions, even when the matter belonged to me I stayed put, froze, or bolted.  And there are people out there with millions of opinions too, but some of them are not sitting in silence, and yet there is no difference.  I don't watch the news, I didn’t need to as it somehow always reached me through social media, very fresh present stuff happening. “Stuff” sounds so disrespectful to justify all the sufferings happening around us, in India.  My instagram is filled with people being taken away, sonam wangchuk taken away disrespectfully, people protesting being detained by the police but among all of this I also saw little girls and boys holding posters that define their future in this country, young men and women trying the...

You, Your smile and Your choice to love

Love is because of life or Life is because of Love? What is life? If not love? Why do we love? Can we live without it? Is loving ourselves not enough? Is one-sided love enough? Why do we crave love? Is it worth it? Do I deserve it?   Does love actually fades? Everywhere we go every person we talk to has different answers for what is love. No one has a common perspective of love, but still, we end up finding our people somehow. Since you stepped into this world, different kind of love has shaped you to be what you are. Now can a materialistic love shape you as a person? Even if it does and makes you happy you are called selfish and ungrateful. When it gets too much out of hand it becomes a problem like any other kind of love. Like in the movie "confessions of a shopaholic" .   Her love for materialistic things is a threat to her career, romantic love angle and her overall future. Why? Because she overdid her love for shopping. But the question here is, shoul...

Emotional Maturity: The life upgrade that is often skipped by some people

Emotional Maturity When we talk about being mature, it is being fully grown and a developed human. When we talk about being mature, we talk about, taking the high road, being understanding, being productive, knowing your goals and working towards it, knowing your relationship with someone and working towards it, doing important work you need to finish rather than sitting around doing nothing. I was taught that being mature is to not be irrational, figuring things out yourself, taking right decisions at right places, not to cry, not to look sad, not to say your problems out loud, I was taught that if I got stuck some where I would be stuck there always, I was called immature always just because I did not want everything to be done formally, I was called immature when I kept my self-respect above an elder's respect. I was called immature for crying at small things and also the things that shattered me from inside. Because that’s what this society has made up the definition of being m...

Finding Solace in Choices we can't Choose

My heart is fierce ; it calls in the demands that other must haste to fulfil. The yearning of wanting things to go my way, the refusal of acceptance when I am not satisfied, the discretion of my existence, the mementos of my favourite memories. There are humans who explore satisfaction and get wise with time just to feel regrets while dying, and there are humans who exist in the will of dying someday, then there are humans who would do anything to live up to the day they can die peacefully with no remorse. What if I had a different purpose, what if in another timeline I have a different life, which counts for infinite lives in the matrix of time. My heart feels an ache, ache of never knowing the conclusions of all what if's, ache of 'we only get to live once' and the time keeps running out but also being tired of even one life. Our current age can only let us do few things at once, and most things are left to mourn . How can I stay here with my family as 20-year-old ...

The curse of Youngest Daughter

THE YOUNGEST DAUGHTER "Every Eldest Daughter was the first lamb to the slaughter" ~ Taylor Swift I am not the Eldest Daughter. The opportunities, the responsibilities, the freedom, even the will to live has been in my hands since I was born. My rise and my downfall has been written by fate, as everyone keeps telling me,  "You are meant for great things, and will have all the comforts" I have an eldest brother, his opportunities, reponsibilities, freedom, is in the hands of the world. For, the world decides his fate. He was the first lamb to the slaughter, but I, the youngest has been an helpless victim too. My hands raise to help, take the burden off the shoulders, carry it and balance with the world on the other; but they never reach.  Lazziness, unwillingness to leave the comfort, guilt, irresponsibility, disappointment, sympathy seeker? The reason remains unknown. For, the freedom that I got, the freedom that I cannot accept. I feel the pain of the eldest, I fe...

FEMALE RAGE

A girl's girl perspective on losing it with style ;) What does a woman need? only a woman knows. I am a woman. I am defined in history, present and future. I know what i want and need, but does it matter? Ever know what a woman does when she reaches her limit? spoiler: there's lot of eye rolling, dramatic hair flips and few curses over at gossip girl tea party. I would choose a gossip girl tea party any day over some boys pretending to be Men and going to wars to show other boys how strong they are. I mean yes, no control over lust, anger, insecurity, jealousy, is what defines strong. While giving birth, bleeding every month, raising a child, having control over anger, balancing emotions is what defines weak. Words and their definition were made by humans, but i think people who made certain words forgot to ask if some people are satisfied with the meaning or they want to go ahead and make up their own meaning of existing words, maybe sometimes make up their own words also. S...

"My People" (a poetry i wrote that makes sense to me)

I wandered through a park  Where I would watch the sunset every day Where everything was loud Loud with laughter, loud with something I never had Loud with a group that called themselves "my people" I wandered and wondered  Where are "my people"? I wondered if it is a rare piece of happiness   I wondered why I didn’t deserve that happiness  So I walked out of the park I walked out of the place that was not for me  But then I turned around Tired of walking away from everywhere I wondered what would happen if I sat still in the park I sat and sat and sat until sunset I wondered if sunset was the only friend I will ever have I wondered "my people" would sit beside me and ask "would you watch sunset with us every day?" I looked around and there were people It was real, and just like that many years of wonder, took only one sunset  We watched many sunsets, and without exchanging any words we knew We knew we were each other's  "My people...
